Who are we and what are we all about?
The Wild Blackberry is proud to be British and I love to bring a bit of British whimsy to everything I do here in terms of both flavour and design - 'something a little different' is right up our street.
We believe in locally sourced, organic, fair trade, free range, beautiful British produce wherever possible.
Not only does this support farmers/producers but we can also personally guarantee that all this makes the
cakes taste fantastic (even if we do say so ourselves).
What do we do?
We loving create cakes and sweet treats tailored just for you! Whether you know exactly what you would like or need some help coming up with creative ideas, we are here to create a delicious piece of edible artwork just for you!
What makes The Wild Blackberry different?
One major factor that in my opinion is not embraced enough is FLAVOURS and TASTE (after all cake is there to be eaten!). When you think of all the combinations of flavours you can have in savoury cooking, we thought, well why not for sweets? Each cake should be individual in both taste and design, so just take a look at our taste page and let your imagination run wild...
Ultimately we love to try new things, challenge tradition! We believe when deciding on that look and taste of your cake there should be no rules or norms, just go with whatever YOU want and forget everything you already know.
About Me - Nicola Shiplee (Owner)
After getting a degree in Business Management and Marketing, no 'desk job' resulted in happiness or job satisfaction for me, so, I decided to try a different route. After being reminded of my love of cooking and baking whilst working in a deli, I decided to do a professional sugar craft course. Being arty and creative has always been a huge part of me life and my mother has always said "you wont be happy unless you are doing something creative" and she was right (as always!). I loved the course and cake decorating always takes me back to my best childhood memories of decorating the Christmas cake with my grandfather every year. I worked for some of the top end cake companies in London and gained all the experience I needed to set up for myself. Now here I am enjoying every second of creating edible artwork!
